Top WR prospect Keon Coleman shines in Florida State’s win over Clemson

Coleman caught two TDs that showed his range as a receiver

Florida State and Clemson played one of the tensest games of the young college football season on Saturday. The Seminoles came away with a 31-24 overtime victory courtesy of one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2024 NFL draft.

In front of scouts from over 10 teams, Florida State WR Keon Coleman caught two touchdowns, including the overtime game-winner. The big plays punctuated a game where Coleman, a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder, caught five passes for 86 yards against the Tigers.

The two touchdown receptions showed the range of Coleman as a receiving talent. The game-winner came on a contested catch opportunity, one which the transfer from Michigan State completed with aplomb,

The first touchdown, which got the Seminoles on the board after falling behind 10-0 in Clemson, showed the attention to route detail and explosive ability to get open in a short range. Those are critical traits for a bigger receiver.

Coleman bounced back nicely from a Week 3 game against Boston College where he didn’t catch a pass.
