All game long, Notre Dame fans were waiting for their defense to make a big play. The unit hadn’t recorded any sacks or come up with any turnovers, so all it could do was play old-fashioned football. At no point was that more necessary than when Ohio State was faced with a fourth-and-inches on the Irish’s 11-yard line while trying to make up a 14-10 deficit. The Buckeyes opted to hand it to Emeka Eguba on a jet sweep, and well, look what happened:

This game isn’t over yet, but that moment was bigger than anything else. If the Irish are able to pull off the upset, this will be seen as the moment that really turned the tide.
