The Brooklyn Nets are weeks away from training camp and as a result, they have their roster set for the most part as they get ready for the upcoming season. Despite having the roster set, it seems that the Nets could always be looking for potential upgrades to the team.
In a recent article by Yahoo! Sports, Jake Fischer spoke about how the Damian Lillard trade situation is developing now that training camp is so close. In his piece, Fischer mentioned that according to his sources, Brooklyn is considered to be one of the teams that would be interested in acquiring Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro as part of any Lillard trade.
As it stands, reports suggest that the Lillard trade machine is ramping up, meaning that Lillard can be traded any second now. Now, it’s worth wondering if the Nets are actually interested in Herro enough to be the team that hopes Lillard get to one of Brooklyn’s rivals, the Heat.
Here’s what Fischer had to say about this developing situation in his article:
“Keep an eye on Utah playing a potential role in a three- or four-team outcome of these Lillard conversations. If Portland ultimately does business with Miami, the Jazz — as well as the Bulls, Hornets and Nets — are considered a team interested in landing Tyler Herro from the Heat, sources said. And there are plenty of executives who’d rather take Miami’s best package, if the Heat are so willing, that could include (Tyler) Herro and Nikola Jovic to go with (Jaime) Jaquez, Caleb Martin and more.”
