Notre Dame is playing Ohio State this weekend, and anyone who ever had anything to do with Irish football will be watching. Among them is Chicago Bears tight end [autotag]Cole Kmet[/autotag]. In an interview with CHGO Sports, the conversation naturally switched to the upcoming game. When asked to comment, Kmet said the following:
“We gotta come up with something this week. It’s a big game. I mean, (the) Irish are looking good. Shout out to [autotag]Sam Hartman[/autotag]. He’s been looking great. I think potential Heisman candidate. So yeah, we’ll see where it goes. I thought last year was a good game, but hopefully, we can pull it out this year.”
Also proposed during the conversation was the possibility of Bears quarterback and Ohio State alumnus Justin Fields having to wear a Hartman jersey if the Irish win. Between that, taking a lot of heat for throwing his coaches under the bus and having to face the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, this stretch of a few days could very well be the worst of Fields’ career. At least Kmet would get a laugh out of it.
