Browns: Looking at the contract details of the new (old) RB2 in Kareem Hunt

The Browns have officially re-signed Kareem Hunt. What does his contract look like?

The Cleveland Browns have found the third running back to take over the roster spot of Nick Chubb after his season-ending injury. While this is still Jerome Ford’s backfield now, the Browns have re-signed a familiar face in Kareem Hunt to keep three running backs on the roster.

Signing a one-year deal with the Browns, it has been reported that his deal is worth “up to” $4 million. What do the details look like, however? We do not have them all, but there is reason to take educated guesses about the structure of his deal with the Browns looks like.

While all of the details have not emerged from Hunt’s new deal, there are hints that those who know NFL contracts and incentives have followed. Starting with PFF’s Brad Spielberger, he believes Hunt’s base salary will come in around $2.5 million with the chance to earn another $1.5 million in incentives. The OBR’s cap specialist Jack Duffin agrees with this assessment as well.
