The Cleveland Browns cannot replace running back Nick Chubb. It’s impossible to replicate what one of the league’s best backs can do after he suffered a devastating and season-ending knee injury. However, the team is expected to bring back a familiar face to fill the void in the running back room he left behind as Kareem Hunt is expected to get a deal done to return soon (according to Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot).
Hunt was not the most effective he had ever been a year ago, looking like he lacked the explosiveness that once made him special. However, with Jerome Ford still expected to take on the starting role out of the backfield, the Browns are bringing back an elite pass protector and a back that can catch the ball out of the backfield.
Expect Hunt, maybe not right away, to take over the RB2 role ahead of Pierre Strong Jr.
