‘Smothering people’: Cowboys defense aiming for history by staying in the moment

From @ToddBrock24f7: After dominating Week 2, the Dallas D thinks they can be even better- maybe even historically great. But they’re taking it 1 game at a time.

It’s been a stellar start for the 2023 Cowboys defense. In two games, they’ve allowed a total of just 10 points while recording 10 sacks and seven takeaways.

As good as they were in their season-opening shutout of the Giants on the road, the unit was arguably even better at home in Week 2 against the other New York squad.

But to a man, the Cowboys defenders believe there’s still room to improve.

“It’s all about getting better every week,” cornerback Trevon Diggs said after beating the Jets 30-10, “going back to the film and seeing what we can do better, seeing what we need to work on.”

“We gave up 10 points,” lamented linebacker Micah Parsons following the game. “So there were some things that we could have gotten back and we could have gotten better on.”
