Brooklyn Nets’ Feb. 3 matchup at Philadelphia 76ers listed as must-watch game

The Brooklyn Nets’ Feb. 3 matchup at the Philadelphia 76ers was recently listed by NBA.com as a must-watch game for this upcoming season.

The Brooklyn Nets are a few weeks away from training camp and once camp begins, the Nets will be preparing to make the most of this upcoming season that hopefully results in the team reaching the playoffs. As such, there are games along the way that will be considered critical games for Brooklyn.

In a recent article by Brian Martin of NBA.com, the Feb. 3 matchup where the Nets visit the Philadelphia 76ers is considered a must-see contest for any NBA fan. The primary reason for this listing appears to be the connection between Brooklyn guard Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia organization that he played for a few years ago.

Also, part of the intrigue will be to see how both teams fare during the season, especially given the fact that both teams faced off in the playoffs last season. Plus, the 76ers have had a drama-filled offseason thanks to James Harden wanting out so it will be interesting to see if he is still on the team by the time these two teams faced off.

Here’s what Martin had to say about the matchup:

“In addition to being a rematch of the 2023 first-round series sweep by the Sixers, there will always be intrigue whenever Ben Simmons returns to Philadelphia, where he played the first four seasons of his career before an unceremonious exit at the 2022 trade deadline that brought James Harden to the Sixers. Harden’s status with the team is a bit uncertain entering the season as this game falls just five days before the trade deadline.”
