Sunday’s performance by the Pittsburgh Steelers offense was dreadful. The Steelers scored one touchdown on the team’s final drive of the first half and finished with only 239 yards of offense. 95 of them came on that drive.
This meant the Steelers defense spent entirely too long on the field meaning the Niners offense spent a ton of time on the field scoring all those points. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco offensive tackle Trent Williams talked about this predicament and he trolled the Steelers offense big time with his response.
“At one point, you just kind of wanted (the Steelers) to get a first down,” Williams said. “There were all those three-and-outs and we kind of needed a break.”
I’m not sure there is a bigger shot you can take at a team than you say that you wish the opposing offense was a little better so you could get some rest.
