A Wisconsin Badger leads the Big Ten in tackles after Week 2

A Wisconsin safety is off to a good start in 2023:

Wisconsin’s 2023 season is off to a disappointing start with the Badgers dropping their Week 2 contest against Washington State.

The team is 0-0 in Big Ten play and has one final tune-up before that schedule begins. But Saturday’s loss has many skeptical about what this team will be able to achieve this season.

That said, there are some bright spots on the team to discuss. One of them is young safety Hunter Wohler, who paces the defense in tackles with 24 through the first two weeks.

That total is good enough for Wohler to lead the Big Ten in tackles, and his 20 solo tackles rank No. 2 overall nationally.

Wisconsin’s defense has improvements to make, especially up front rushing the quarterback. But Wohler projected to be a star entering the year and early returns point towards that being the case.
