PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Greg Schiano ended his press conference on Monday afternoon the same way he ended his press conference early on Sunday morning following his team’s win over Temple. He thanked the fans for their turnout and the impact they had on the game.
Through the first two games of the season, Rutgers football has enjoyed a strong home-field advantage. So after rewarding the fans with a 2-0 start, Schiano wanted to once again talk about his fanbase.
He singled out the student section, which on Saturday night was loud and strong. At times, it teetered on being frothy.
“I do want to talk about – I know I did Saturday night but I want to do it again. I’m really proud of our students section,” Schiano said.
“I think we’re starting to get a little reputation for the student section that is a factor. So now that they’ve set the bar we need them. I know our door guys just appreciate the heck out so I want to thank them again. call of duty…3:30 game, would love to have them again.”
A crowd of over 45,000 braved a bad storm prior to the game to help spur Rutgers to victory.

After the game, Schiano said that a delay of game start on Temple was due to the volume of the crowd.
