[autotag]Chase Elliott[/autotag] produced a solid top-10 finish in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway and there were definitely positives to take away from it. Elliott displayed speed that would’ve arguably finished in the top-3 spots behind Tyler Reddick and Denny Hamlin and almost won Stage 2 if not for a late pass by Brad Keselowski.
However, there was some drama involving the No. 9 car on Sunday afternoon. Elliott’s teammate [autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag] exited his pit stall and was rolling next to him before Brad Keselowski pulled out. Larson had to make a quick maneuver to avoid serious damage and made contact with Elliott. The driver of the No. 9 car then turned left and made big contact with Larson.
They're teammates. 😬

After the race, Elliott was approached with a question about the contact and whether there was a message being sent to Larson. Elliott’s response was short and he seemed confused about the question overall.
“There was no message,” Elliott said. “No, no.”
While Elliott may not have seemed angry at the time of the question, his intentions were quite clear on the race track. If Elliott watched a replay before the interview, he might have already deemed it a misunderstanding. Still, it’ll be interesting to see if anything comes from this moving forward as the two drivers fight for an Owners’ Championship.
