[autotag]Israel Adesanya[/autotag]’s second run as middleweight champion came to an abrupt end Saturday at UFC 293, courtesy of Sean Strickland.
Adesanya (24-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC) suffered a unanimous decision loss to Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) in the headlining act at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, marking the second time he’s lost the belt in his past three contests.
The result against Strickland raised a number of questions about what the future holds for “The Last Stylebender,” who has achieved a level of activity at the championship level in recent years that can only be matched by a handful of other fighters throughout the course of UFC history.
