Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are tied at 14 with Charleston Southern at the end of the first quarter in a game that should not be nearly as close as it is.
As of now, Charleston Southern has 7 yards of total offense and has yet to earn a first down. Yet, they are tied with Clemson as some ugly turnovers have set the Buccaneers up for easy scores.
After a 4th and 1 fumble set up an easy score for the Buccanneers, starting quarterback Cade Klubnik threw a shocking 67-yard pick-six while the Tigers were driving. This team was sloppy in Week 1, and things have not changed in Week 2.
On the next drive, the Tigers responded, going 7 plays for 57 yards and a touchdown. Their touchdown came on a Phil Mafah 1-yard touchdown run. It was a strong drive for Clemson, but this inconsistency has been painful to watch at times.
This team needs to turn things around in the second quarter.
