4-star OT Nick Brooks announces commitment to Iowa in 2025 class

Boom! Another commit. An elite 2025 prospect, four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks chose Iowa over Alabama, Georgia and others.

The Iowa Hawkeyes just landed a big-time, in-state talent in the 2025 recruiting class.

Four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks of Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes, choosing Iowa over fellow finalists Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee.

The 6-foot-7, 345 pound offensive tackle is the second commit in Iowa’s 2025 class, joining three-star lineman Joey VanWetzinga of Pleasant Valley.

“It means a lot to stay home. I am 20 minutes from the stadium, so my parents will be at all the games and my family is happy about the decision,” Brooks said of picking Iowa.

Brooks is rated as a consensus four-star recruit by each of the four major recruiting services.

ESPN ranks Brooks as the nation’s No. 80 player overall, as the No. 12 offensive tackle and as the No. 1 player in the Hawkeye State. Rivals rates Brooks as the country’s 136th player overall, as the No. 12 offensive tackle and as the No. 1 player from Iowa.

Per On3, Brooks is regarded as the No. 156 player overall, as the No. 15 offensive tackle and as the top player in Iowa. Lastly, 247Sports ranks Brooks as the 157th player overall in the 2025 class, as the No. 15 offensive tackle and as the No. 2 player in Iowa.

Previously at Buford High School in Georgia, Brooks announced he would be moving back to the Hawkeye State in April. That seemed to be a harbinger of good news at the time and now that has proven itself to be true.
