Auburn football moved to 1-0 on the young season last Saturday by knocking off UMass from the ranks of the unbeaten, 59-14.
Auburn gained 492 yards of offense, nearly splitting the yards evenly. Seven players split 44 carries for 297 yards and eight touchdowns. On the passing side, three quarterbacks completed 14-of-25 passes for 203 yards.
Freeze says that he was proud of his team for establishing the run early.
“I know, I’ve coached enough games, we could have been as balanced as we wanted to be tonight,” Freeze said Saturday. “Any time you are running the football effectively, you consider yourself balanced because they have to commit defenders to the box. I felt like we established that early.”
Auburn executed many successful plays last Saturday, but here are five that truly defined their win over UMass.
