The Auburn Tigers have landed its first offensive lineman commitment of the 2024 class.
High-priority target [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag], a four-star interior offensive lineman from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, announced his commitment to Auburn on Saturday, choosing the Tigers over Michigan State and Texas.
Auburn has been suspected to be the favorite to land Carter for a few weeks now. On3 gave Auburn a 93.7% chance to snag Carter prior to his commitment, and 247Sports gave four crystal balls in favor of Auburn.
Carter received an offer from Auburn on June 7, and has visited Auburn twice since. One of those times was for Big Cat Weekend. He tells On3 that Auburn has plenty to offer.
“I love the coaches and the environment. I love the campus and the fans,” Carter said of Auburn. “Love the traditions there. Love what they have to offer for the education program.”
Carter is ranked as a four-star IOL by all four major recruiting services. He is the No. 1 interior offensive lineman by both 247Sports and ESPN and is the No. 6 prospect from the state of California according to 247Sports for the 2024 cycle.
