It was a rare cloudy day in Los Angeles for USC’s game against Nevada on Saturday in the Coliseum. The cloud cover offered a welcome respite from a blazing hot sun USC faced one year earlier on Labor Day weekend in the 2022 opener against Rice. The last thing USC or any other top program needs is a brutal heat game in the early part of the season.
The Trojans watched Gino Quinones get hurt in the Nevada game, easily the worst piece of news to come from this contest. Otherwise, the news was generally very good. The defense improved, Caleb Williams played like Caleb Williams, and the offense did its normal thing.
