The Nebraska soccer team returned home after going 2-0 on the road, putting a combined nine goals. The Huskers returned home Thursday night and continued their momentum, handing Missouri its first loss of the season with a dominating 5-0 win.
Nebraska outshot the Tigers 14-5 in the match and put keeper Kate Phillips on high alert throughout. Though she gave up five goals, Phillips finished the match with six total saves. Eleanor Dale once again led the way for the Huskers in the win, scoring two goals to bring her season total to six.
Accompanying Dale in the match were Florence Belzile, Nicola Hauk and freshman Kayma Carpenter.
So far this season, the Huskers have finished every match scoring two goals or more. Through its first five games this season, Nebraska has scored 18 total goals, giving them an average of 3.6 goals per game.
With the win, the Huskers are now 4-0-1 with their next match being at Kansas State on Sunday. The match is set to begin at 8 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+.
