With the first game of the Deion Sanders era on Saturday, all of the talk is about how good the Colorado Buffaloes football team will be.
The national media has been talking about Coach Prime and CU nonstop since Sanders was hired. Now everybody will get their first look at the Buffs when they face TCU on Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff.”
On the new version of “Undisputed,” NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin spoke in great lengths about Coach Prime:
“Everywhere he’s gone, he’s made it better. … Deion is going to take this place and he’s going to make it heaven. … Give him two years: He’s in contention because he’s going to come up with five or six wins. … He’s about to unveil his greatest masterpiece, and I guarantee you he will.”
What Coach Prime has done so far in Boulder is unprecedented, although there is a wide range of outcomes with the Buffs after they went 1-11 and fired Karl Dorrell a season ago.
It could be a process, but Coach Prime receiving praise from a person of Irvin’s status is surely promising.
