After several seasons of disappointment, there is a positive buzz surrounding Auburn football heading into the 2023 season.
The Tigers enter the season in the “receiving votes” category in both the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and the Associated Press poll. Brad Crawford of 247Sports has examined each “under-the-radar” team and has determined which teams fans should buy into, or sell.
When it comes to Auburn, Crawford says that it is time to cash in.
Take a gander at Auburn only if you’re willing to hold this play until the 2024 season. There will be hills and valleys in Year 1 under Hugh Freeze and if you’re someone who maniacally checks your investments, you might want to keep it moving here. Freeze has transformed this roster in the portal and while that might be not be the best route annually to build a program, he has already made others take notice of the Tigers. Freeze has been a winner everywhere he’s landed and has vastly more resources on the Plains than he’s ever had before.
No one knows how Auburn’s program will look in five years, but the work that Freeze has put into the rebuild in a short time has given fans hope that the program will become a national contender in both recruiting and on-field production. As Crawford explained, Freeze has won everywhere he has gone, and he hopes to continue that success on the Plains.
