Former LSU and current Nebraska Cornhuskers tight end [autotag]Arik Gilbert[/autotag] was arrested for burglary on Tuesday morning, according to public records.
Per a report from The Athletic, Gilbert was arrested around 2 a.m. in Lincoln, Nebraska, for the burglary of more than $1,600 worth of products from a vape shop.
Gilbert was currently awaiting an eligibility ruling from the NCAA for the 2023 season.
A former five-star prospect from Marietta, Georgia, Gilbert signed with the Tigers and made 35 catches for 368 yards and two touchdowns as a true freshman in 2020. He initially transferred to Florida following the season but changed his mind and ultimately landed at Georgia, instead.

After not appearing during the 2021 season, Gilbert ultimately played in just three games last fall with the Bulldogs, making two catches. He transferred to Nebraska following the season.
