Tyson Bagent is making believers out of Bears fans

Bears fans loved what they saw from rookie QB Tyson Bagent against the Colts.

No Justin Fields? No problem. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent gave Bears fans something to root for during Saturday’s preseason game against the Colts.

With Fields not suiting up for Saturday’s game after a pair of joint practices this week, Bagent provided plenty of highlights in his limited action.

Bagent replaced P.J. Walker, who got the start at quarterback, in the second quarter, and there was an immediate difference in offensive execution. Walker struggled in his two series, which were both disappointing drives ending in punts.

Bagent provided a spark on offense in his only full series, leading the Bears down the field on a 17-play, 92-yard scoring drive. Bagent completed 7-of-8 passes for 61 yards with a 98.4 passer rating, capping the drive with a 2-yard rushing score.

As you can imagine, Bears fans were excited about Bagent providing some life on offense after two unimpressive series from Walker. But perhaps even more interesting is a position battle developing behind Fields. Could Bagent push for the backup quarterback job? Fans certainly believe so.

Here’s how Bears fans reacted to Bagent’s impressive play against the Colts:
