Dennis Allen says Marshon Lattimore has knee injury, Saints believe it to be minor

Dennis Allen says Marshon Lattimore has a knee injury. The Saints believe it to be a minor issue, but they sidelined him on Friday as a precaution:

Dennis Allen opened his Friday press conference after the New Orleans Saints’ joint practice session with the Los Angeles Chargers by reviewing a couple of injury situations, starting with the apparent leg injury that sidelined star cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

“Lattimore, little bit of a knee. I don’t expect it to be anything. We held him out for precautionary measures,” Allen recounted. “Obviously we’ll go in and evaluate it, see where he’s at. Didn’t seem significant on the field so hopefully that’ll be the case.”

When asked whether Lattimore had collided with someone or suffered a non-contact injury, Allen replied “No I think he just planted and felt a little something. I really think it’s more precautionary than anything but obviously we’ll evaluate it and see where it’s at.”

So it doesn’t appear to be anything serious. We’ll have to wait and see to make sure but it’s a good sign that Lattimore remained on the field observing practice rather than leaving for further medical attention. Keep an eye out for further word.
