Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has an excused absence away from the team due to a personal matter, the team announced Wednesday.
Taylor returned this week from a different absence, one that also was excused when he received treatment elsewhere away from the facility. Still on the PUP list, Taylor will once again be absent for an unknown length of time.
Statement from the #Colts:
“Jonathan Taylor returned to Indianapolis to continue his rehab, however he had a personal matter arise. He is not currently with the team and his absence is excused.”

Taylor has not yet practiced since undergoing a January procedure on his ankle to clean up the high ankle sprain he suffered during the 2022 season. Taylor also is in the middle of a contract dispute and has requested a trade from the team.
General manager Chris Ballard recently said the team needs to get him healthy before they can move forward with anything in regard to his contract situation.
