North Carolina quarterback [autotag]Drake Maye[/autotag] has been named to the Manning Award Watch List.

The announcement came Tuesday morning from Allstate Sugar Bowl, formulating a list that includes 33 of the top quarterbacks in the nation. The winner is picked by who the voters deem to be the best QB in college football. Those voters include national media, and each Manning will also cast a vote.

Among four quarterbacks representing the Atlantic Coast Conference, Maye is joining Duke’s Riley Leonard, Jr., Syracuse’s Garrett Shrader, Jr., and Florida States Jordan Travis, Sr.

Maye has had an off-season filled with his name appearing on Watch Lists as he is believed to be one of the best players in college football this season. A lot of UNC success will fall on Maye’s shoulder pads, and if he can work the heavy load and pressure, he will be a shoo-in to win.
