The busy offseason list of activities following Super Bowl LVII for Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Travis Kelce is officially ending as training camp is underway. The multiple-time Pro Bowler wouldn’t end his entertaining offseason quietly as he stars in a new DIRECTV campaign as their “Overly Direct Sportsperson”.
Kelce discussed his involvement in the project and taking on the football legend mantle via the company’s press release.
“I’ve grown up watching DIRECTV produce incredible football commercials through the years, and I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of several football legends that I also call friends,” said Kelce. “This is a fun campaign and showcases DIRECTV as the ideal solution for football fans looking for a great viewing experience.”
Kelce teamed with DIRECTV to address the compromises pay TV competitors often force fans to make on game day. He is shown in the commercials calling “foul” on fans’ inability to properly watch football, from the ultimate fan in face paint flipping through channels looking for his favorite team to a group of tailgaters scrolling through apps unable to find a game.
Chiefs All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones makes a cameo in a commercial to assist Kelce more physically to spread the word. Recently launched DIRECTV Sports Pack and DIRECTV Sports Central were developed to enhance the sports viewing experience.
