The Brooklyn Nets will be looking to not only make the playoffs next season, but try to have more success in the postseason than they have in previous years. One of the people they will need to guide them to that place is head coach Jacque Vaughn, but some are skeptical on where he ranks in the coaching hierarchy next season.
According to Manolis Olandezos of Sir Charles In Charge, Vaughn ranks as just the 27th-best head coach in the league for the upcoming season. Vaughn, 48, has been the head man in Brooklyn since November of 2022 when he took over for Steve Nash after he was fired following a 2-5 start for a team expected to compete for the championship.
Despite the challenge of taking over a team on the fly with those expectations, Vaughn rose to the occasion. After taking over, he led the team to a 43-32 record, won Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for December, and guided the organization to the playoffs in spite of mid-season trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
