The Arizona Cardinals will play their preseason opener on Friday at home against the Denver Broncos. It will be the first opportunity for special teams players to get some live action, especially in the return game.
For now, receiver Greg Dortch seems to be the favorite to handle return duties, and he likely already has a spot on the final roster.
However, as the Cardinals play in the preseason, keep an eye on a few other return candidates. If they do well enough, they may find a way on the final roster.
Punt returners
Dortch and Rondale Moore have gotten reps receiving punts. In addition, receivers Brian Cobbs and Davion Davis have seen work.
Kick returners
On Saturday at the Red & White practice, in addition to Dortch, Davis, running back Emaro Demercado and cornerback Rashad Fenton practiced receiving kicks.
Because Davis is getting practice at both spots, he might be the guy to keep an eye on in the preseason, especially if he can make a few plays in the passing game.
