The LSU men’s basketball team is down in the tropics.
After completing its 10th and final practice on Saturday morning, the Tigers traveled down to Paradise Island, Bahamas, for a seven-day, three-game exhibition tour slate.
Coach Matt McMahon’s squad will play its first game on Monday at 2 p.m. CT against a Puerto Rican club squad. LSU faces a team from the Bahamas at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, and the finale will come against Obras Sanitarias from Argentina at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
“I think the beauty of it being an exhibition trip is you are able to play a lot of different combinations. We will start a different lineup every game,” McMahon said in a release. “Then, when the players get back from their break you have 120 minutes of film that you can study and use for teaching, celebrating the good, and making the corrections. It also gives you a feel for saying ‘We need to guard this ball screen differently’ or ‘This offensive system fits our personal better.’ It gives you an early look and an opportunity to make some adjustments as we head into fall preseason.”

LSU is looking for a bounce back this season following a disappointing 14-19 finish in McMahon’s first campaign, in which the team went just 2-16 in SEC play.
