Former Tennessee pitcher Jake Fitzgibbons made his professional debut with ACL D-backs Red on Tuesday.
ACL D-backs Red compete in the Arizona Complex League.
Fitzgibbons pitched 0.2 innings, recording two strikeouts, while allowing one walk and one hit in ACL D-backs Red’s, 6-1, win versus ACL Brewers. Fitzgibbons recorded a hold in the contest.
A hold is earned when a pitcher enters a contest with a lead of three runs or less and maintains the lead, while recording at least one out. A hold can also be earned when a pitcher enters a contest with the tying run on-deck, at the plate or on the bases, and records one out.
Fitzgibbons (3-0) played at Tennessee from 2021-23, appearing in 30 games, including four starts, while recording 36 strikeouts and a 5.20 ERA.
He received a medical redshirt in 2022.
