Alabama football wide receiver Thaiu Jones-Bell no longer appears on the official team roster, according to Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News.
Jones-Bell has been with the program for three seasons and has managed to appear in 12 games, but did not make any starts. In total, he’s caught four passes for 19 yards.
Kelly reports that while Jones-Bell appeared on the media guide that was released for SEC media days, he is was not seen on the team website on the first day of fall practices.
“Without Jones-Bell, Alabama still has plenty of receiving depth. It’s one of the more compelling battles in camp,” writes Kelly. “Upperclassmen Ja’Corey Brooks and Jermaine Burton return, as do some intriguing sophomores such as Isaiah Bond, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice and Emmanuel Henderson Jr. Newcomer Malik Benson also brings plenty of potential.”
Alabama looks to have a new style of offense with a handful of new contributors. It’s unsure what Jones-Bell’s status is, but it likely will not have a large impact on the offensive depth chart one way or another.
