USC target Julian Lewis stars in headline-generating ESPN kickoff event

A USC football target plays on national TV on Friday, August 18.

Seven games are slated for the ESPN High School Football Kickoff during a two-week stretch from Aug. 18-27. This collection of matchups includes 11 teams ranked in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25. Five games will feature USC commits or prospects.

The key player to watch in game one of kickoff week for Trojan fans will be Julian Lewis, who will get a special spotlight in this event.

Julian Lewis, in his 2022 freshman season at Carrollton High School (Georgia), threw for a mind-boggling 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns with a 65% completion rating and a 121.9 quarterback rating. He was named MaxPreps Freshman of the Year.

Lewis received an offer from USC back in January of this year. Under Lincoln Riley and Kliff Kingsbury, the Trojans have become one of the nation’s premier destinations for elite quarterbacks. The Trojans have landed Miller Moss, Caleb Williams and Malachi Nelson over the past few years.

Carrollton will take on Langston Hughes Fairburn (Georgia), which has Ohio State commit and four-star quarterback Air Noland.

Noland led the Panthers to an undefeated season and the school’s first state championship, throwing for 4,095 yards and 55 scores for a team that broke the single-season state record for most points (792).

This game between Carrollton and Langston Hughes Fairburn takes place on August 18 at 6 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2.
