While new head coach Deion Sanders has heightened Colorado’s focus on recruiting Texas and Florida, the Buffs have not neglected talent from their home state.
Colorado recently picked up a preferred walk-on commitment from Dakota Ridge (Littleton) defensive back Brandon Miller and on Saturday, tight ends coach Tim Brewster gave another PWO offer to Erie High School rising senior Mason Cowgill.
At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Cowgill sizes up well compared to other 2024 TEs and he has taken advantage of several opportunities this summer via attending prospect camps at Colorado, Sacramento State, Weber State, Idaho and Montana, among possibly others. Cowgill announced his first Division I scholarship offer from South Dakota in May.
The three-star Cowgill recorded 207 receiving yards and four touchdowns as a junior last fall.
This is big time! @cowgill_mason is a BEAST of a TE @ErieTigersFB! @CUBuffsFootball sees the talent, @TimBrewster would develop š into a PRO IMO. Opportunity is knockingā¦ā¦..1st 3 WKs are nut cutting time w/ evals & the work put in will help Mason shine! RECRUIT or PLAY!ā¦ https://t.co/W0ElY72vkR
