Florida makes strong first impression on 5-star 2025 OT

Just ahead of the Grill in the Ville cookout, five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi stopped by for his first visit to the Swamp.

The Florida Gators are in the middle of one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the year, but five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi stopped by early and left impressed, according to Swamp247.

Fasusi, a 6-foot-4-inch, 287-pound tackle at Lewisville High in Texas, is one of the top players in the class of 2025, which explains the desire to get him on campus early for some one-on-one time with the staff. Saturday’s Grill in the Ville cookout should feature plenty of blue-chip talent, but the coaching staff can only spread itself so thin to meet with every visitor.

A Thursday arrival allowed Fasusi to get settled before touring the campus on Friday. The size of the university impressed him, and he made sure to see a Gator or two before he left.

“The second we got to the campus, I thought it was a big campus and looked amazing,” Fasusi said. “The people there, man the people there are full of support. We went out to dinner that night and the people serving the food even followed recruiting and knew who I was and was telling me about Florida. They were even trying to recruit me. Just the people in Gainesville are it, man.”

At publishing time, the Oklahoma Sooners are the top team on the On3 recruiting prediction machine, with 31.4% odds to land Fasusi. Texas A&M (18.6%), Texas (15.9%) and Baylor (7.0%) round out the top four.

Fasusi is a four-star recruit everywhere but ESPN, where he earns a five-star grade and is ranked No. 11 overall in the country. The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, places him at No. 28 nationally and No. 5 among offensive tackles in the class of 2025.
