It’s an honor bestowed to the people — whether celebrities, heroes or the like — when Major League Baseball teams bring a nonplayer aboard to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. One Michigan football player received that opportunity on Thursday.
Wolverines running back Donovan Edwards threw out the first pitch at Thursday’s Detroit Tigers game, a feat usually reserved for players who have graduated rather than ones who are currently active. A native of West Bloomfield, Edwards got to make a day of it, as chronicled by Valiant Management, the name, image and likeness agency that put the opportunity together.
