It has been about a week and a half since news broke of the Tennessee Titans reeling in wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in free agency, but his contract details remained a mystery — that is, until Thursday morning.
Well, we did know based on reports that the pact was for two years and $26 million, with the ability to go up to $32 million via incentives. However, we didn’t have the full breakdown in terms of cap hits, guaranteed money, etc.
Thanks to the good folks over at Over the Cap, and with an assist from Zach Lyons of Stacking The Inbox and the “Football & Other F Words” podcast, we have the full breakdown.
Hopkins’ deal is actually for two years and $25.5 million (liars!) and includes three void years. The 31-year-old will get $10.98 million guaranteed, with a signing bonus of $9.815 million.
His 2023 cap hit will total $3.668 million, which leaves the Titans with a healthy $12.9 million in cap space. Hopkins’ cap hit will balloon to $15.963 million in 2024, although the Titans will have much more cap space then.
It looks like the incentives that were reported at first have turned into Per Game Roster Bonuses that are still NLTBE and won't count against the cap.

The out in the contract will cost the Titans $7.852 million in dead money but will save Tennessee $8.111 million if Hopkins is cut by the fifth day of the new league year in 2024.
