Pablo Torre hilariously breaks down missing a Messi goal because he was getting chicken fingers

Chicken tenders are delicious. I get it.

Lionel Messi has understandably taken the U.S. soccer world by storm.

The Argentinian superstar has played two games for new MLS squad Inter Miami, scoring three goals along the way. His most recent goal — part of a 4-0 Miami win over Atlanta United in the League’s Cup — was impressive.

With Miami up 1-0 after Messi notched the opening goal, the new addition dribbled through midfield and left a gorgeous ball for teammate Robert Taylor. With a brilliant touch, Taylor crossed it back into the box for Messi for the easy goal and the 2-0 lead.

Fans have poured into the stadium — ticket prices have shot up nearly 700% since he signed — and Pablo Torre was among them for Tuesday’s game against Atlanta.

But Torre didn’t see the second goal from the GOAT. He was getting chicken fingers. As a chicken tender enthusiast, I get it. It’s still hilarious, though. Torre went on the Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz on Wednesday to talk about his culinary crisis, explaining how it came to that point.

The best part is there’s even footage of Torre returning from his errand for delicious tenders.

I hope the chicken tenders were delicious, but I’m sure there will be plenty more Messi goals to see in the coming season.
