Four-star tight end Ethan Barbour adds USC to top schools

USC is going into the state of Georgia to add another puzzle piece on offense.

USC successfully recruited Duce Robinson as a tight end, but has since reslotted the elite prospect to the wide receiver spot. How USC recruits tight ends is a point of interest, given that Lincoln Riley can use various pieces in many different ways. This leads us to another tight end recruitment: Ethan Barbour, a four-star prospect.

The USC Trojans are battling Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, South Carolina, Ohio State, Texas and Auburn for the Georgia native.

Barbour is the No. 157 overall player and No. 4 tight end in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 20 player from Georgia in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Barbour is listed at 6-3 and 215 pounds, Barbour has played just two seasons of high school football, but he has already become a go-to option for Alpharetta High School. He caught 51 passes for 714 touchdowns and 12 touchdowns last season.

How Barbour might be deployed in Lincoln Riley’s offense is an intriguing question on its own merit, but in order for that question to gain added importance, USC has to land the recruit and get him in a Trojan jersey.
