Bronny James was reportedly taken to a hospital on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest during a workout at USC.

Bronny James, the eldest son of LeBron James, was taken to a hospital on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest during a workout at the University of Southern California.

James, 18, was working out at the Galen Center, the practice home of the Trojans, when an emergency call was placed on Monday morning. He is in stable condition and no longer in the ICU, according to a statement made to USA TODAY Sports by a James family spokesperson.

Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.

James committed to play at USC in May over programs like Ohio State and Oregon. He was the 19th-ranked recruit in the class of 2023 and was the last American recruit in the top 100 to sign with a school.
