Former Buffs skyscraper Dallas Walton is one of the many CU alumni to join Team Colorado in The Basketball Tournament. Walton played in last year’s TBT for Team Wofford but decided to come home and play for the Buffaloes’ alumni squad this summer.
I caught up with my fellow Arvada native at Team Colorado’s first organized practice on Saturday at the CU Events Center. We touched on high school basketball in Arvada, Team Colorado’s chances at making another run to the championship game and what he’s most looking forward to in his second The Basketball Tournament.
Team Colorado opens against the Men of Mackey (Purdue alumni) on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. MT on ESPN+. The game will be held at the University of Dayton Arena.
“I know that the atmosphere, being able to be in there and being on ESPN (is great),” Walton said. “I remember the atmosphere is a lot better than what people expect and what people may see on TV. That is what I’m most excited for and then advancing in the tournament and winning some money. That’s what we’re all here for to do.”
