Former Vol Yan Gomes went 2-for-4, recording one double, one run and two RBIs for Chicago.
Gomes played at Tennessee from 2007-08 before transferring to Barry University.
Gomes has recorded a .263 batting average, eight home runs, 35 RBIs, 30 runs, 56 hits, five doubles, two triples and one stolen base in 2023.
He won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019. The former Vol was an American League All-Star in 2018 and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2014.
The Cubs will next play Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox.
