Draymond Green has had an active start to the summer. The Golden State Warriors re-signed Green to a four-year $100 million deal. Jordan Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards. And then Green appeared on ‘The Pat Bev Podcast,’ where things started to take a wrong turn. During the podcast appearance, Green discussed the incident in which he punched Poole during training camp last summer.

That discussion has led to a war of words between Green and Poole’s camp, most notably his father, Anthony Poole. However, in the midst of the back-and-forth, former Warriors guard Nick Young took to Twitter to claim that Green tried to punch him during his tenure with the team.

Young spent one season with the Warriors – the 2018-18 season, winning the only championship of his career. As such, it’s clear when the alleged attempted punch would have taken place. Nevertheless, it would appear that Green and Young were able to bury the hatchet during the season, as both played pivotal roles in winning the championship that season.

During his time with the Warriors, Young saw the court in 80 of the Warriors’ 82 regular-season games, with 66.6% of his shot attempts coming from the perimeter. The veteran guard also played in all of the team’s postseason games that year, averaging 10.3 minutes per game.

Unfortunately, Young’s claim comes at a time when Green is under increasing scrutiny due to his recent social media interactions with the Poole family and the recent report that he also has ‘no relationship’ with young Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Following the discourse of last summer, Green will likely be hoping the current spotlight on him begins to fade before Golden State enters training camp.
