Oklahoma analyst said in June of 2022 that Caleb Williams was ready to be great

Our analyst on The Riley Files one year ago (before the 2022 season) was convinced Caleb Williams would flourish. Home run.

Lots of people knew Caleb Williams was hugely talented going into the 2022 season. Many knew Caleb Williams was going to put up strong numbers in 2022.

Yet, Caleb exceeded all expectations in his romp to the 2022 Heisman Trophy. He was better than advertised … well, for most people.

One person who was already expecting Caleb Williams to be awesome and transcendent in 2022 was our Riley Files Oklahoma analyst Kegan Reneau:

“I would give Caleb Williams whatever (he needs). I think that kid’s ready for it,” Reneau said last year, before the 2022 season began. “I think the more he fails, the more he’s gonna succeed and very quickly. This is a kid who was thrown into the fire (in 2021 at Oklahoma). He wasn’t 100-percent polished in fall camp. It was probably all Spencer Rattler (getting first-team snaps). Regarding Caleb Williams, this (2022) is his first year that he’s going to be (the guy). He knows he’s the starting quarterback. We’re a hundred percent sure of that. We know that.”

Having that certainty, Reneau explained, was going to help him immensely.

We can see that Kegan Reneau knocked this one out of the park on The Riley Files here at Trojans Wire.
