A pair of former Spartans greats on the gridiron has been inducted into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame.
Al Dorrow and Javon Ringer will be two of the nine Spartans to be inducted into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame this year. The official class was announced on Wednesday.
Dorrow starred for Michigan State at quarterback from 1949 – 1951. He was the starting quarterback for the Spartans’ first National Championship in 1951 and held a career record of 20-3.
Javon Ringer was a star running back for the Spartans in the early Mark Dantonio years, Ringer ranks first on Michigan State’s all-time list in all-purpose yards (5,426), second in rushing yards (4,398), carries (843) and 100-yard rushing games (19), and fifth in total touchdowns (35) and rushing TDs (34). He also is one of only two Spartans to ever lead the team in rushing in four consecutive seasons.
