56 days till Bengals season opener: Every player to wear No. 56 for Cincinnati

A look through Bengals history at the No. 56.

Longtime Cincinnati Bengals fans know the No. 56 has had some memorable success in the 2000s before fading again.

Thank linebacker Brian Simmons. Starting in 1998, the first-round pick by the Bengals spent a decade in the league, racking up 748 tackles, 24 sacks and 11 interceptions, among other notable numbers.

In more recent times, the number has belonged to names such as Josh Bynes and Wyatt Hubert, with it currently belonging to Raymond Johnson III as of this writing.

With about 56 days to go until the Bengals start the season against the Cleveland Browns, here’s a look at every player in franchise history to wear the number, courtesy of Pro Football Reference.
