Austin Reaves is the newest sensation for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he just finished an excellent sophomore season in which he improved leaps and bounds over his rookie campaign.
He seemingly improved as the 2022-23 season wore on, and it culminated with a strong postseason, during which he put up his best numbers ever.
Reaves was rewarded just days ago with a new four-year contract worth north of $50 million that will keep him in the Purple and Gold for the foreseeable future.
Some are wondering how much better he can become. Skip Bayless said recently he can see the undrafted guard becoming an All-Star within the next few years, and head coach Darvin Ham agrees.
Via Lakers Daily:
“I’m putting it on record right now: Austin Reaves will be an All-Star at some point soon,” said Ham while on the Chris Haynes and Marc Stein podcast.
Reaves averaged 13 points a game in the regular season and 16.9 points in the 2023 NBA playoffs. With the work ethic and grit he has shown, perhaps an All-Star berth or two isn’t out of the question for him in the near future.
