The Cincinnati Bengals addressed cornerback again late in the 2023 NFL draft with DJ Ivey.
Ivey, a standout for the Miami Hurricanes, offers intriguing long-term upside at a position where the Bengals need long-term help beyond the likes of Chidobe Awuzie.
Experience: Rookie (Round 7, 2023)
Age: 23
College: Miami (Fla.)
2021 PFF Grade: n/a
Numbers to Know: 17 pass breakups, six interceptions and two forced fumbles during his college career.
Resume and Outlook: A 6’1″, 189-pound cornerback, Ivey won’t command as much attention as second-rouder DJ Turner. But he’s got a sneaky-strong resume and the traits to last a long time in the pros if he can help on special teams. He should be in the conversation for the 53 all summer. It sure doesn’t hurt that he’s already generated some hype with big plays.
