Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar recently revealed his list of the best players to wear each jersey number in NFL history and the best player in Denver Broncos history made the cut.

Former Broncos quarterback John Elway was named the best player to ever wear No. 7 on Farrar’s list. Elway played quarterback for Denver from 1983-1998, earning nine Pro Bowl nods, NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP honors during his 16-year career.

A two-time Super Bowl champion as QB, Elway was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2004. He later returned to the Broncos as an executive and helped the team win a third Super Bowl in 2015.

In addition to Elway, four other Broncos were named the best players to ever wear their respective numbers: outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (94), inside linebacker Randy Gradishar (53), running back Terrell Davis (30) and quarterback Peyton Manning (18).
