Three-star safety Red Morgan picks FSU over Auburn

Auburn was unable to keep the three-star safety home.

Auburn was able to reel in one in-state target on July 4th in [autotag]D’Angelo Barber[/autotag] but missed out on another when three-star safety [autotag]Red Morgan[/autotag] committed to Florida State.

He announced the move Tuesday night on Instagram, picking them over Auburn, Alabama, Miami, Mississippi State and Cincinnati

Morgan, who is from Phenix City, Alabama, took several visits to Auburn and had said Auburn “feels like home” back in May but he officially visited the Seminoles on June 2 and decided to take his talents to the ACC.

He told Dane Draper of 247Sports that his relationship with Florida State’s coaches separated them from Auburn and the rest of his finalist.

“The relationship I got with [head] coach (Mike) Norvell, [defensive back] coach (Pat) Surtain, and [defensive coordinator] coach (Adam) Fuller, and the rest of the coaches,” Morgan said.

While Auburn missed out on Morgan, they have already landed three four-star defensive backs in corners [autotag]A’Mon Lane[/autotag] and[autotag] Jayden Lewis[/autotag] and safety [autotag]Kensley Faustin[/autotag].
